The Certification Standards are currently under review. Any recommendations or comments may be submitted to the MICRB through your sponsoring agency.
MICRB Instructor Application – For your convenience, the watermarked version of the MICRB Application for State Emergency Services Instructor Certification or Recertification will no longer be required. A PDF of the application is now available. HOWEVER, ONLY CURRENT VERSIONS OF THE FORM WILL BE ACCEPTED. If/when the form is revised, the revised version will be the only one accepted. ORIGINAL SIGNATURES ARE STILL REQUIRED ON ALL APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED.
New Evaluators - Effective with the adopted changes to the standard (12/03), the Evaluator Workshop is now required of all State Emergency Services Instructors being recommended as new Evaluators. Sponsors may schedule an Evaluator Workshop by contacting the MICRB.
PDI Requirement for Recertification - Effective July 1, 2010, the following policy changes went into affect.
1) The Board will no longer accept sessions of ITC II TOWARD THE 12 HOUR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENT FOR RECERTIFICATION. The Instructor Training Course Level II was never intended to replace Professional Development/Continuing Education for instructors but was offered as an alternative for instructors who may have had difficulty in the past achieving the full 12 hours as required by the Standard. Since a significant number of PDI opportunities are now available, the Board has elected to discontinue this option.
2) Redundant or repeated PDI will not be approved for credit for subsequent recertification periods.
