Rescue Technician Trench Rescue Operations RES-206 Old Course Code: RTTRO

Objective: To provide the student with the knowledge and skills to perform technician-level trench rescue operations.
Learning Outcome: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to function as part of an integrated trench rescue team.
Instruction: Major topics covered in this course include preparation and response, support operations and trench access, disentanglement, trench rescue equipment, and practice sessions on intersecting and non-intersecting trenches. Methods of instruction include lecture, discussion, classroom exercises, audio/visual materials, practical exercises, and written examinations.
ACE Credit Recommendations: Credit Recommendations: In the vocational certificate or the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 1 semester hour in Rescue Technician or Firefighting: Special Topics (9/03) (2/09).
Prerequisites: The prerequisite for this course is Rescue Technician Revised 60 Hours (RTR); Rescue Specialist I (RSI) , RES-201 Rescue Technician: Site Operations and Vehicle and Machinery Rescue (RTVMR); or RES-101 Rescue Technician - Site Operations (RTSO)
