The Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute (MFRI), a statewide organization that is part of the University of Maryland, is the comprehensive training and education system for emergency services in Maryland. The Institute provides learning opportunities for personnel of fire departments, rescue squads, emergency response agencies and industrial emergency response teams. The headquarters facility and training center are located near the College Park campus of the University of Maryland. In addition, the Institute has six regional offices throughout the state.
