Course Description: This course includes twelve study modules that provide continuing education in medical assessment and trauma care. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to perform all the roles and responsibilities of the EMT-B required for the emergency care of medical and trauma patients including assessing the patient, managing the airway, recognizing signs and symptoms, and providing care for adults and children with medical conditions or trauma injuries.

NOTE: Students who complete the 12-hour on-line continuing education training option must also register and complete a 12-hour practical skills program to complete the 24-hour recertification requirement. It is the responsibility of the student to register for the 12-hour practical skills program through their regional office. There are no restrictions on the order of completion for these two requirements.

NOTE: Students must complete the on-line portion of the program within 30 days of the start date. If a student drops from the course, a grade of DROP will be recorded on the student's MFRI transcript. If a student fails to complete the course, an INCOMPLETE grade will be recorded on the student's MFRI transcript. Any student with a previously recorded DROP grade OR who fails to complete the course in three (3) attempts in any 12 month period will not be permitted to repeat the on-line training course for one year.

Minimum System Requirements: This training program is an Internet-based training program and requires a minimum computer system configuration to operate. Please ensure that your computer meets all of these requirements prior to registering for this course.
