Course Objective: This course will familiarize students with personal protective equipment (PPE) and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).

Course Description: Major topics covered in this course include personal protective equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus, routine inspections and maintenance of PPE and SCBA, and emergency procedures. Methods of instruction include lecture, discussion, and practical exercises.

Successful Completion: Students must attend required classroom sessions, complete all required online and in classroom activities and homework assignments and demonstrate proficiency in the practical skills evolutions.

Prerequisites

Students must provide their own PPE including SCBA. This course also requires medical clearance.
