The Emergency Telecommunicator Course is the basic forty hour (minimum) emergency telecommunicator course to introduce students to the 9-1-1 call taking process for Fire, EMS, and law enforcement emergencies. It covers the roles and responsibilities, communication technologies, call processing and call management techniques, Fire, EMS, and law enforcement call classification, disaster readiness, public safety radio broadcast procedures, legal aspects of public safety communications, quality improvement and quality assurance, stress recognition and management for emergency telecommunicators.
