Firefighter II (PILOT)

Major topics covered in the course are incident command, building construction, fire suppression, technical rescue, vehicle extrication, fire suppression systems, preincident surveys, and community risk reduction. Methods of instruction include lecture, discussion, classroom exercises, audio/visual material, team-focused practical skills evaluations, and a final examination.
Successful Completion: Students must attend required classroom sessions, complete all assigned online and classroom activities and homework assignments, demonstrate proficiency in the practical skills evolutions and obtain a score of 70% or better on the written and practical examinations.
Certification Information: Upon successful completion, this course partially satisfies the professional certification requirements for Firefighter II.
Prerequisites
Successful completion of MFRI Firefighter I (FIRE 101 or FIRE 105) OR MFSPQB, NBFSPQ, or IFSAC/DOD Firefighter I certification.
A minimum of one year experience as a Firefighter I is suggested before enrolling.
