The OSHA Hazard Communication Standard was promulgated to ensure that all chemicals in the work place would be evaluated and that information regarding the hazards of these chemicals would be communicated to employers and employees. The goal of the standard is to reduce the number of chemically related occupational illnesses and injuries.
