Disaster/Emergency Management and Business Continuity

This two-day program is designed to provide the individual with an introduction to the components of a disaster/emergency management and business program. This continuity program is based upon the resources of several nationally recognized organizations. The resource material covered includes:


  1. NFPA 1600: Standard on Disaster/Emergency Management and Business Continuity Programs

  2. Federal Preparedness Circular 65

  3. Maryland Emergency Management Agency's "Preparing for Emergency, Continuity Operations Planning for Public Institutions"

  4. Disaster Recovery Institute's "Professional Practices for Business Continuity Planners"

The goal of this program is to provide an individual with an introduction to the components of a disaster and emergency management and business program as well as the criteria to assess current programs or develop, implement and maintain aspects for prevention, mitigation, response, recovery and restoration for emergencies.
