Technical Rescue: Confined Space Rescue Technician

Course Description: Major topics covered in this course include safety; Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health (IDLH) and OSHA regulations; extrication techniques in vertical and horizontal environments; and non-entry rescues. Student must successfully complete the exams for Awareness, Operations, and Technician levels during this course to receive credit.

This class will require additional student work outside of normal class hours to include, but not limited to; take-home assignments, PTIs, study guides, and assigned readings from the textbook. This may also include coursework that must be completed prior to the first class session.

Prerequisites

MFRI Personal Protective Equipment and SCBA (FIRE 098), MFRI Protective Equipment and SCBA (FIRE 099), MFRI Firefighter I (FIRE 101 or FIRE 105) or MFSPQB, NBFSPQ, or IFSAC Firefighter I certification
