Public Fire and Life Safety Educator Seminar

This seminar is hosted by MFRI with financial support from the MSFA and MSFALA Fire and Injury Prevention and Life Safety Committee and Maryland EMS for Children's State Partnership Grant from HRSA/ MCHB/ EMSC Program.

The 2026 Public Fire and Life Safety Educator Seminar will feature the NFPA Steps to Safety training program. The NFPA Steps to Safety training program pairs fire service/EMS with their community partners to educate, engage, and bring key resources to their older adults to reduce the incidence of injuries and deaths from fire and falls. This seminar is a Train the Trainer workshop (full day) that will enable participants to deliver the materials (FREE and available for Download) to community groups, at Open Houses, during home visits, and education for your members. The goal is to create a network of referral and resources to support older adults to live safely and independently at home.
