At the ICSC and Mobile Lab the NIMS system to manage incidents is stressed and used extensively. Students learn how to use branches, divisions, and groups; obtain a better understanding of the span of control; and how to maintain it during an incident. Personnel are expected to know the NIMS incident command procedure, a 43-page document. The simulation lab will help you understand and practice how the NIMS system works during emergency incidents. Managing an incident with command presence is stressed during the simulation training to enhance confidence and efficiency.
