Hazardous Materials/WMD Incident Commander

This course includes sessions using the MFRI Simulation Center.

Course Description: Major topics covered in this course include hazardous materials management system; health and safety; incident management system; action plans, site management and control; problem identification; hazard and risk evaluation; personal protective equipment; information management and resource coordination; response objectives; decontamination management; and incident termination.

This class will require additional student work outside of normal class hours to include, but not limited to; take-home assignments, PTIs, study guides, and assigned readings from the textbook. This may also include coursework that must be completed prior to the first class session.

Prerequisites

MFRI Hazardous Materials Operations (HM-102 or HM-106) or MFRI Hazardous Materials Operations (Extended Version) (HM-112) or MFSPQB, NBFSPQ, or IFSAC/DOD Hazardous Materials Operations certification.
