Emergency Medical Services Officer I

Course Description: Major topics covered in this course include the dynamics of EMS leadership and organizational structure; managerial leadership; team-building; communications; creating a culture of quality; customer service; strategic planning; crisis management; and budgeting. This course includes team-focused practical exercises.

This class will require additional student work outside of normal class hours to include, but not limited to; take-home assignments, PTIs, study guides, and assigned readings from the textbook. This may also include coursework that must be completed prior to the first class session.

It is strongly encouraged that MFRI Instructor I (MGMT 110) be completed before enrolling in this program.

Prerequisites

Students must be a current, licensed Maryland basic or advanced life support provider. ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800 level training is also required.
